VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Wait for It

One morning I decided to paddle out into the Atlantic Ocean to watch the sunrise from my paddleboard. The water was calm and still—perfect for waiting and watching.

But as I looked toward the horizon, a large cloud blocked the sun.
Still, I waited.

Eventually, the sunlight broke through for a brief moment, and it was beautiful.
That moment made me think about something much bigger.

Imagine living during the time of Jesus’ crucifixion. After His death, His followers were told He would rise again in three days. How eagerly would they have waited for that moment? Would we have been standing at the tomb before sunrise?

Waiting requires patience, trust, and expectation.

Scripture reminds us that Jesus is even now interceding for us:
“He is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” (Hebrews 7:25, NIV)

While we wait for His return, life may bring struggles—health challenges, loss, or uncertainty. Yet these trials are temporary when compared to the eternity God has prepared for us.

Jesus promised:
“I go to prepare a place for you… I will come back and take you to be with me.” (John 14:1–3)

So take time to wait on Him.

Listen for His voice.

Notice His presence.

Be still in His creation.

Sometimes the greatest blessings are found in the waiting.
