EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:

Be Heavenly Minded

Psalm 119:18: “Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things from Your law.”

The psalmist’s cry to the Lord is for sight beyond what he can see with his natural eyes. His desire is to see what God sees, that which is seen and known by the spirit of God. He knows that there are some things that can only be seen through heavenly eyes.

I recently asked my son, “Where do you put your Hope?” I waited for his response, and then I shared with him the importance of placing our hope in heaven!

To be heavenly minded means that a person sees the world around them through the lens of heaven and allows that perspective to affect every thought in order to make the greatest impact here.

If one wants to properly love this present world, you must think about the next. Your heaven will determine your earth. So if you want to change earth, set your mind on heaven.

As C. S. Lewis put it, —”Aim at heaven and you will get earth ‘thrown in.— If you aim only at earth, —you will get neither.”

Be more heavenly minded, not less.

Set your eyes and your hope on Heaven and see God in everything and everyone. Keep your perspective fixed on heavenly, eternal things.

As we run our race, we can hold on tight to the hope and assurance that heaven is our true eternal home. This world is temporary, but the promises of God regarding our eternal home and final destination are sure and constant.

I don’t know about you but I truly look forward to the day when I meet Jesus and hear the words, “WELCOME HOME!” I pray that rings true in your heart as well.
