EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
What do we do when we fail at something? Do we give up and say, “Never again?” Do we start over and persevere through another time?
God is the One who gives us a fresh start!
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 45:18-19)
God is the God of second chances, third chances, fourth chances and of a million chances. There are so many people in the Bible who were able to have second chances. Think about Rahab, who was a prostitute. Think about David and Bath-sheba.
If we all had to be perfect to receive God’s grace, no one would stand any chance. We would have no need for God. But we are not perfect, and we fail in many things. So, we accept that God gives us grace to try again. If you want to move forward into whatever God may have for you, shut the door to failure. Shut the door to your past. Open the door to new streams!
Your biggest failures may end up being the most incredible blessings when you see them from a new perspective. The wasteland of your painful failures can truly become the most beautiful new streams of living water with God involved. Look into your mistakes with God and His word and learn from them, but don’t dwell there.
Do whatever you need to do to pick up the pieces of failure, get right with God, and press on. Thank Him for a fresh start, grow your faith, and ask Him to move you forward toward your purpose! He will do it. You don’t need to give up!
