EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God.” (Matthew 5:9)
Would you consider yourself to be called a peacemaker? Do you have peace inside your own life?
I remember back to school days when life was all about the drama in middle school and high school! Trying to make mountains out of molehills seemed to be the “in” thing to do. Peacemakers were looked down upon because they were not rebels as the in crowd seemed to be.
Peace is precious. Our world, especially in America, seems to be frantically searching for peace. They look for it in health, beauty, love, talent, and wealth but receive no peace of mind in these things….without peace of mind, anything we have is just pure rubble.
Peace is not total security or the absence of tension or an untroubled life… and in our world, as hectic as it is, we can’t seem to find any such thing as this perfect peace. To pray for such things would mean to pray for death and going to heaven because in heaven there WILL BE perfect peace.
Jesus told us to “Take up the cross, and follow Me” (Mark 10:21)
– Was He not telling us to take up our task? What does this mean?
I believe God is telling us we have giants to defeat and mountains to climb, and powers and principalities to conquer in the Name of Jesus! We see this in our lives each day in the form of various trials. Have you taken up your cross today?
Peace can be won! How? By accompanying God into the storm! God’s promise of “Peace be still” conquers the trials of our life. Just as David spoke of peace in the darkest valley because God was with him. Read Psalm 23.
Peace is a gift from God! There can be no peace until we find peace with Him and fully surrender to Jesus.
Jesus is in complete control of my life, and I had to surrender everything to Him to become a peacemaker instead of a drama-raiser! Don’t play into raising drama along with others who will take you down their path filled with anxiety. It’s painful and dark there.
Blessed are the peacemakers!
