EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
As women, we take on the burdens of our relationships. Often, we can hold in hurts and offenses that come from them. We can work through and perservere some enormous difficulties and injustices and often people may say it’s because we are women. But reality, it’s because of how God designed us.
Often, inside this, we can open ourselves to enemy influences of all kinds.
What can break this cycle when it happens?? What can allow us to be confident and sure of walking with God and letting go of those influences that aren’t healthy and may tend to sway us?
Praying! Fasting!
Scripture mentions prayer and fasting as powerful spiritual disciplines, and when used together to seek God’s guidance, power, and favor, it brings miraculous results.
In the Bible, Moses fasted before receiving the Ten Commandments. The early church practiced fasting and prayer before sending out missionaries. Yes, fasting can be a way to humble ourselves, seek God’s presence, and also strengthen our spiritual sensitivity as well.
“But this kind of demon does not come out except through prayer and fasting.” ( Matthew 17:21)
“And He said to them, ‘This kind cannot come out by anything but by prayer and fasting.'” (Mark 9:29)
“As they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ So after they had fasted and prayed, they laid their hands on them and sent them off.” (Acts 13:2-3)
“Therefore also now,” says the Lord God, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning.” (Joel 2:12)
Yes, praying and fasting will purify and transform our minds and our thinking. It’s also biblical. It causes us to walk holy before the Lord. We can move God’s heart for our families, our country, and even ourselves. Think about the impact you can have in this world when you pray, fast and release those burdens to our Lord!
