EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Do you ever kneel to pray?
I have this hand-painted picture of an empty cross in remembrance of my Savior, Jesus, who died for my sins. It’s on the wall right next to my husband’s and my bed. We placed it there for specific reasons. I often think about kneeling before the cross when I pray.
Kneeling at the cross is a gesture of our humility, respect, and reverence for what took place on it. It expresses our adoration for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and what He did personally on the cross for each one of us.
It signifies acknowledging God’s authority and His power, and expressing to Him our gratitude for His love and grace and the eternal life’s promise to each of us who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.
When I kneel, it is a physical act from me that demonstrates humility and reverence, acknowledging God’s greatness and my dependence on Him. I pray we can all know and understand such reverence and its importance in our lives before our Father.
“Or, you may fall on your knees and pray – to God’s delight! You’ll see God’s smile and celebrate, finding yourself set right with God.” (Job 33:26-28)
As we look at the cross, or wear a cross or hold a cross, or remember it in our minds, remember it’s the representation of our Savior’s sacrifice, love, and redemption. It’s not to be idolized, just a remembrance of our Jesus, who is no longer there. He has risen to complete God’s perfect plan for all of us. Kneeling before it only acknowledges the POWER of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and the incredible, miraculous impact He provided so we can live.
“I love you, Jesus, thank you!”
