EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Do you have reverence for God and His authority?
Proverbs 1:7 states, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
This verse emphasizes that true wisdom and understanding begin with a reverence for and submission to God, while fools reject both wisdom and the instruction that leads to it.
When we have reverence for God, it is a deeply felt feeling of respect, awe, and honor toward God. Having a “godly fear” is respecting WHO God is. We should have a posture of humility and acknowledgement of God’s supreme authority and majesty over us.
Reverence is not just a passive feeling, but an active way of living for us that should impact how we speak, act, and relate to God and His creation. We should show reverence for our Lord and all He’s done for us!
I pray each of us will reverence God, recognizing God’s greatness and giving Him the honor He deserves inside all we do each day. May we be in awe of God’s power and majesty, leading us to humility, as we acknowledge our dependence on Him in obedience, as we strive to live according to His will.
You can show reverence through our expressed words, actions, and our overall lifestyle.
Reverence should be a natural response to encountering God every time we approach Him.
