The Power of Forgiveness

Have you ever made a choice that felt unforgivable? A decision that filled you with so much guilt and shame that you believed you were disqualified from God’s plans?
I have.
We will make poor choices in life—it’s part of learning and growing. But if we are going to step into the future God has for us, we must take responsibility for our decisions. We can’t blame others. We must come honestly before the Father and ask for forgiveness.
The truth is—God already knows. He created us. He isn’t surprised when we mess up. While sin may delay God’s plans for a season as we learn and grow, He will never forsake us. He never stops loving us.
Scripture tells us King David was “a man after God’s own heart.” Yet David made devastating choices later in life. Still, God did not abandon him. Why? Because David believed God. He remembered God’s faithfulness—how the Lord delivered him from the lion, the bear, and the giant.
David had faith. And faith is what we believe. What we believe shapes who we become.
It’s easy to forget God’s faithfulness when we feel like we’ve disappointed Him. But Scripture reminds us that God removes our transgressions as far as the east is from the west. He doesn’t keep score. His grace is enough.
Sister, God is not surprised when we fall short. Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross was for you and for me. Every sin. Every mistake. Past, present, and future.
God was there for David—and He is here for us. Always.
