How Can I Pray Effectively?

When we pray, God is not concerned with eloquent words or long phrases. He is concerned with the humility of our hearts. Effective prayer seeks the face of God above our own desires and places the needs of others before our own.
At Women World Leaders, prayer is foundational. This ministry was bathed in prayer from the beginning and continues to rely on prayer daily. Our communication with God is what sustains us. Prayer is not a last resort—it is our first response.
Scripture reminds us to ask, seek, and knock, trusting that God hears and responds according to what is best for us. Whether His answer is yes, no, or wait, we can trust His perfect timing and unfailing love. Prayer is how we speak with God, and He speaks to us through His Word.
Praying effectively begins with seeking God first and delighting in His will. When we know Him more deeply, our prayers align with what pleases Him. We are also called to pray with confidence—boldly approaching the throne of grace, knowing He hears us.
Being “ever interceding” does not mean spending every moment on our knees, but living with a prayerful posture throughout the day—inviting God into every situation, big or small. As He answers, we respond with gratitude and praise, giving Him all the glory.
Scripture encourages us to bring everything to God through prayer and thanksgiving. When we do, His peace guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
May we be people who are ever interceding—longing for God to move, trusting His will, and praising Him in every outcome.
