VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Surrender Your Past

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!”
—Isaiah 43:18–19 (NIV)

When you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, you become a new creation. God’s love for you never ends, and your past no longer defines you. No matter what you have done—or what has been done to you—God promises forgiveness and freedom. He chooses to remember your sins no more.

Yet letting go of the past can be difficult. Guilt, shame, and regret have a way of clinging tightly, quietly robbing us of the present life and future God desires for us. The enemy would love nothing more than to keep replaying old mistakes, using them to steal your peace and weaken your purpose. But God has something better. He wants you free—fully surrendered, fully alive, and blossoming into who He created you to be.

Surrendering your past to God allows Him to work freely in your life. Even when you don’t see it, feel it, or understand it, God is at work. Walking faithfully with Him means choosing not to look back, but to move forward with a renewed mind and a surrendered heart. Inner peace begins to flow when we trust Him completely—even knowing mistakes may still happen as we grow.

Each new morning is a fresh start. Look to God the moment your eyes open. Ask Him to guide, strengthen, and equip you for the day ahead. When old thoughts try to resurface, remind yourself that your past has already been given to God.

“Let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature” (Ephesians 4:23–24, NLT).

“Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NLT).
Your past does not define you. God does. And behold—He is doing something new with you.
