VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY

God Will Use a Willing Vessel

For years, I never believed I was a writer. I didn’t think I was smart enough or qualified enough. But God doesn’t ask us to be qualified—He asks us to be willing.
In 2005, I felt God nudging me to write my story. I knew He was calling me, yet fear and lack of confidence kept me from obeying. Years passed. God continued to remind me, but I pushed the calling aside, convinced I couldn’t do it.
Then God opened a door I never expected. I was invited to write for Voice of Truth magazine. Everything in me wanted to say no—but before I could, “yes” came out of my mouth. And in that moment, I knew I was finally being obedient to what God had asked of me years before.
I still don’t see myself as a writer. I don’t use fancy words—I simply write like I talk. But I now understand that God uses ordinary people to tell extraordinary stories of His love. Writing has become a way for me to encourage others and show them that if God can use me, He can use anyone who is willing.
One day, a lost box of magazines was miraculously returned at just the right time. That same day, a woman came into my home who desperately needed encouragement. Through a simple conversation and a magazine left on my coffee table, God orchestrated a divine appointment—one that led to healing, mentoring, and restoration. Only God could do that.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord… plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV).
God will use a willing vessel—far beyond what we can imagine.
