EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Getting searched can be very scary. Having our hearts searched even scarier. Have you ever stopped to think about how much God knows that is going on inside our hearts?
Nothing is hidden from God. He knows the depths of what your thoughts entail; He knows the good, the bad, and the ugly at the heart of it all. Thank God He is a forgiving God. Whew.
How many times do we conscientiously ask God to forgive us before we pray? Sometimes we may not even know the depths of what is going on inside us. He does. Ask Him to expose if there is any bad or ugly and ask God to help you do better when He reveals what it is.
God says in His word, You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.
He knows what we will do before we do it, and He knows what we struggle with before we even struggle.
I love that I keep my heart clean before God daily so we can continue in communication. But to be safe, I love asking God to search me. I say, “dear God, please expose anything in my heart that should not be there, maybe something that hurts You that I’m unaware of. God, please show me. Please allow me to understand how to get rid of what hurts You and help me with the strength to do it. If there is something present that should not be, I want it gone!
“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. ( Psalm 139:24)
May it be continuously on our hearts that we be searched!
