VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
The years pass so quickly.

One moment you’re teaching kindergartners, and the next you’re watching them step into middle school and high school. The phrase “the days are long, but the years are short” has never felt more true.

As a seasoned homeschool mom, I’m often asked the same questions by stressed parents: Where do I start? How do I know I’m doing this right? What if I mess my kids up? The truth is, homeschooling can feel overwhelming — especially when the pressure to “get it right” weighs heavy.

Looking back, I’ve learned something freeing: there is no single right way. Each homeschooling journey is as unique as the child and parent walking it. God entrusted these children to us, and He is faithful to equip us for the task. “Each child is fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14), and being present in their daily lives gives us a front-row seat to witness that beauty unfold.

Though I’ve raised all three of my children in the same home, they are wonderfully different. Each learns differently, loves differently, and thrives in different environments. One may need extra support, another more connection, and another space to recharge. Homeschooling allows us to adapt, to respond, and to meet our children where they are — not where a system says they should be.

As parents, we have the sacred privilege of walking beside our children, guiding their hearts as well as their minds. Sometimes the most important thing we can do is pause — step back from the lesson book, take a deep breath, and remember the bigger picture. God has called us to raise children who love Him and love others (Matthew 22:37–39).

Academics matter, but heart work matters most. Cherish the moments, appreciate the growth — even the messy parts. These days, these lessons, and these children are precious gifts from God.
