“Fear”
“For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” (Isaiah 41:13)
I relate many things to my own life when God gives me a topic to share.
Some of us are facing fears and don’t even know if we will see a future ahead in the face of our fears. It could be health scares, relational scares, financial scares, or even spiritual scares.
Jeremiah 29:11 is a word for people living in captivity. The scripture talks about those who had fear! But just as they had fear, God knew their fears and left provision for them. Read the whole chapter; it’s wonderful.
If you are like me, the devil wants to bully us in our minds and push us into captivity. That’s where he loves to get me, in my mind and thoughts. I often get stuck thinking I was not a good mother because of the mistakes I made. The devil uses past behaviors of me and others to haunt me, and when he does, I feel the rejection even more. He knows exactly where to get us when we hurt. The good thing is the devil doesn’t actually know our future. He wants to take us out long before we get to our future, right?
But God, on the other hand, tells us He knows the plans He has for us!
God’s plans are good plans, the best plans. He wants us to look over our fears and consider what awaits us in the promised land. By faith, believe in God’s plans for YOU!
When you are attacked in your mind… (I gave you an example of my thoughts of never having a relationship with my children ever again) we must collect ourselves and understand the devil is a liar! We must rely on God’s Word.
“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord; plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” ( Jeremiah 29:11)
“You shall not fear them, for it is the LORD your God who fights for you.” ( Deuteronomy)
When the flames of oppression are consuming you, God wants to pull you from any captivity of fearful thinking and fan the freedom of His hope. You have hope in Jesus Christ, dear sisters. He can help you overcome any fears the devil brings to your mind.
Please look back over your shoulder at the faithfulness of God. You are alive and breathing! Has He delivered you from something devastating before? For me, He has many times over, and I thank Him! He will do it again. He will deliver you, and He will deliver me. Our God is faithful. Thank God for His faithfulness in your life, and watch Him get you beyond your fears.
