EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Solitude, it’s very important. “Time alone” means something to each of us. Time alone with God can look very different to many people depending on how they choose to do it.
“After he dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.” Matthew 14:23
Jesus needed time alone. Some of us need it as well but have too little time alone and those treasured moments of quietness that seem very unfamiliar to our ears. There are people who live alone, and to them, they have too much silence surrounding them, and they may feel lonely.
Jesus was often alone but never lonely because he spent the time with God.
If you find it difficult to make time for solitude, remember God is waiting. He loves you so very much. He wants your time. He is waiting for you to spend quality time with Him and not take your leftover minutes or seconds. He doesn’t push Himself on us because He gives us free will to choose what we do with our time.
The Lord God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, and he will quiet you with his love, He will rejoice over you with singing. (Zephaniah 3:17)
What a promise this is from scripture of what God gives us as we give Him our treasure of time.
Whether you’re surrounded by noisy family each day or you live entirely isolated and alone, take great joy in spending time in peace with God.
Psalm 46:10 is the best reminder we have of God’s word… Be still. How much more does He need to tell us when He wants our attention than to “be still” and know that He is God?
When you have Him, you will never be “alone” or “lonely.”
