EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:

Let’s share Jesus with effective communication!

It is so important to be able to share Jesus with others who need Him. We all need more of Him inside our lives. 💝 Trust God as you step out to communicate properly with the right timing, the “plan or blueprint” to share your love of Jesus. Take time to listen and really look into a person’s life before jumping on them to talk and push any agenda. Ask the Holy Spirit to work in you and let Him guide you.

Be humble, be honest and be true when you share about our Lord and be empathetic to others. People want to see your honesty to them and a humility in you first before they trust what you say. Show loving kindness to them and watch how they will soon trust and listen. No one wants to hear a preachy, self-righteous person; keep this in mind and humble yourselves.

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14)

A word spoken in love will always be acceptable to our Lord. ❤️

One thing NOT to do is exaggerate. When people have too much over exaggeration in their verbal connection with other people, it often does not go over well. When we see this, people usually want to run the other way. How many others are seeing it, too? Many people will tune out these type of people or just plain avoid them, unfortunately. Please, do not be overbearing, but be sensitive to how others are viewing your communication skills. A person can lose a tremendous audience because of an exaggeration problem. Be a good listener.

Many communication blockers can include a lack of honesty, pride, fake tears, and talking too much. Again, I implore you to practice being a good listener. Experience with empathy, what others are feeling in the moment, and when they speak. Your turn will come to communicate back. Then, when it does, communicate your thoughts in a way that God directs you. Pray while you’re talking. It really helps.

Ezekiel 3:15 shares where the prophet said, “I sat where they sat,” and David also shared, “Beside the rivers of Babylon, we sat and went as we thought of Jerusalem”(Psalm 137:1). Empathy is important. Become one of them in who you are trying to reach by putting yourself in their shoes for a minute (maybe sit where she sits by staying home with 4 children and changing diapers, washing clothes and caring for sick children). There is always a story on the other side of who you are reaching.

To reach people for Jesus begins with being a good listener.
