EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Earlier this year, we wrote a book about JOY at Women World Leaders. Joy is such an important part of our daily walk with Christ.
Jesus is not only WHAT we proclaim about the word JOY; He also shows us HOW to proclaim joy…
Jesus, as a teacher and model, exemplifies joy in what He did. He clearly shows us how we should go about sharing the Gospel message with those around us and why we should have a joyful spirit about doing so.
The “sermon” that Jesus gave in the synagogue, as recounted in the Gospel of Luke, is an example. The Lord read a passage from Isaiah  (61:1-2) and then said, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, for the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.”
This is JOYFUL!
This was Jesus’ sermon: “Today, this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing. This means that for Jesus, that prophetic passage contains the essence of what He wants to say about Himself. So, whenever we talk about Jesus, we should look at how He spoke.
JOY is the first element. Jesus proclaims, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me; He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor” (that is, a proclamation of gladness, of joy.)
Jesus had Good news! He is the good news! One cannot speak of Jesus without joy because faith is a wonderful love story to be shared with bursting gratitude. When joy is lacking, the Gospel does not come through because – it’s the very meaning of the word! Right? It IS good news! And the “Gospel” means “good news,” a proclamation of… joy!
A sad Christian can talk about beautiful things, but it is all in vain if the news she conveys is not joyful.
Someone once said, “A Christian who is sad is a sad Christian.” There is much truth in such a statement.
We have “joy in the person of Jesus  Christ.”
I pray today you may walk in the Joy you receive just by “knowing” Jesus as your Savior and Lord and Who He is in your life.
It’s Joy Unspeakable! IT REALLY IS.
And
Please check out our book if you have not read it yet, “Joy Unspeakable”!
You will put yourself in a beautiful place each day you sit down and read it.
