He Picked Me
One chilly evening in March, after nearly nine years of dating, Keith got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
I was overjoyed.
Out of everyone, he had chosen me.
That moment marked the beginning of a beautiful marriage, but over the years I’ve realized there was an even greater truth woven into our story.
Long before Keith picked me…
God did.
Nearly forty years later, Keith still reminds me of his love in countless simple ways—a quick goodbye kiss, holding my hand as we walk together, helping with everyday chores, or quietly slipping out of bed so I can sleep a little longer. Those ordinary moments have become beautiful reminders of faithful love.
They also remind me of God’s love.
Scripture tells us, “For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world” (Ephesians 1:4, NIV). Before we ever knew Him, He had already chosen us.
What an incredible thought. The God who created the universe calls us His own. He chooses us to know Him. He chooses us to walk with Him. He chooses us to experience His grace and His presence through every season of life.
First Thessalonians 1:4 says, “For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that He has chosen you.”
Maybe today you’re wondering if you’ll ever be chosen—for a job, a relationship, a ministry opportunity, or whatever lies ahead.
If so, remember this:
Your greatest acceptance has already been settled.God has chosen you. He loves you.
And He will faithfully guide every step as you continue to trust Him.
