EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:

What are you adding to this world? God’s word says, “You are the salt of the earth.” (Matthew 5:13) I pray you’re adding much flavor to your world around you.

How do stories we share add word pictures to our brains? They help us remember things, just like Jesus taught us with word pictures, right? We get a visual by thinking of us as salt, don’t we? God knows that.

When I was still living in Florida, I’d come home and spend some time in Ohio. Each time I’d visit my mom and papa, we would take a drive into town and pass this ice cream stand where Papa would take my mom for “sprinkles.” Papa would say, your mom adds sprinkles to this world whenever she goes out, and he’d jokingly say, “Have you been good?” (of course we’d laugh in a joking way saying, she’s always a good girl) then he pulls in and stops to get her an ice cream cone with a few colorful sprinkles on top. This act melts my heart every time. Papa doesn’t ever “not” pass up the ice-cream stand without saying, “you deserve sprinkles today,” in a sweet, fun way, and we stop and laugh together.

God tells us we ARE the salt of the earth! Not that we should be, but that we already are! We are salt (the sprinkles) that bring love and His light to others’ lives.

One thing we know, salt is only useful when it’s poured out or sprinkled onto something. There is no use for it stuck inside a bottle. It serves its purpose only when it has direct contact with something else. Salt is a seasoning.

We need to be “seasoning our world” with the love of Christ. We need to preserve the hopes of others and sprinkle our love where-EVER it’s needed.

You are being used more than you can even imagine right where you are. You are the sprinkles that will remind others there is “goodness” in our world. As my mom deserves sprinkles in the love of her husband’s eyes each day, we receive love every day in the arms of our Savior.

May we all be found sprinkling our love that He gives us, out into the world. In return, showing the light of God’s eyes looking at His children with great love … it goes a long way.❤️ Be the love, daughters of the King!
