EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Please don’t get distracted today by heading in the wrong direction with your focus. Start your day off with a particular mindset. A thought that says you are not going to be distracted by things that are not important today. Set your priorities on an eternal focus.
The older I get in my walk with God, the more I realize how important it is to be selective with my time. There will always be many options for me to choose from and even opportunities to take, but God revealed to me that I must be selective to be effective.
” Anyone who let’s himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” ( Luke 9:62)
” Someone may say, ‘I’m allowed to do anything,’ but not everything is helpful. I’m allowed to do anything, but not everything encourages growth.” ( 1 corinthians 10:23)
Once I figured this out with God, I was able to realize what matters most in life. It was that I was to choose not just “good things” but the most “important things” that would be a glory to God. There will always be good things that cross our path, but important??? Are they important to God? Ask yourself each day what those “things” might be.
It’s interesting as I move closer to heaven in my age, the most important thing to me is that I honor God in everything I do and choose to do. My heart is to only do what lasts for God’s Kingdom glory, hence why I shared this scripture above with you.
One day you and I are going to stand before God. How will you answer Him when He asks what you did with what time you were given here on earth?… Not just once, but each day? I know how I will answer because I’m always conscious of it. And I ask God to help me to do it. Its not in my own strength I will tell you that is for certain. It’s only His.
I pray that we can all take to our hearts and weigh out what is most important in each day we live. What is deserving of our precious, priceless time?
