Empowering Lives With Purpose:
Doubt is an experience we all face at times. Even those of us who have mighty faith in God can struggle with doubt. As Mark wrote in his gospel, sometimes we must cry out to God, “I do believe; help me to overcome my unbelief.”
The enemy loves to stir up unbelief and fears that are often a result of our past failures. These things can haunt our minds and more often than we realize cause “doubt in the darkness.”
Why do we doubt? Often, it is because the opposition wants to take your eyes off Christ. Do you ever feel the enemy attack when God is getting ready to do something in your life?
In Luke 1:11-17, Zacheriah doubted the “word” that was given to him because his age and his wife’s age were so beyond a possible pregnancy by world standards. As a result of his doubt, the angel said, “Zachariah’s voice would be muted until God’s promise was fulfilled.”
Is this you? Do you allow your human reason to overshadow your faith in God?
No matter how logical your own reasons seem, God has “made foolish” things of this world! (1 Corinthians 1:20.)
The remedy for doubt is faith sisters! Faith comes by hearing the word of God. (Romans 10:17) Increase your faith to overcome the doubt. You may hear me say this and write this often and I reiterate it again and again; don’t doubt in the darkness what God shows you in the light! “With God… ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.” (Matthew 19:26)
