EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
Guest writer and Podcast speaker: Robin Kirby Gatto
Saints of God, there is a strength of the Holy Spirit being supplied to His people as we seek the Lord in prayer and fasting, clinging to His ways, and examining our hearts.
Unconsciously in the insecure areas of the soul, we look for our identity, which I explain as our “form,” in my new book “The Forbidden Fruit, the Spiritual Disease,” in all that we do.
This is the issue; when you seek to find your identity in relationships, work, finances, gatherings, etc., you end up not being the authentic version of who God created you to be. Moreover, you have disappointments and discouragement abounding in your life because, in these spaces, you actually reflect yourselves onto others and end up getting the version of yourself, who you believe you are. Moreover, when things don’t happen the way you wanted them to, you end up grieving not only the relationship, job, etc., but you end up grieving the version of you, you thought you were.
I know this is deep, but truly the Holy Spirit has shown me scripture, unpacking the issue of us trying to find our form in others. This is part of being human, which is why we have to be mindful of this tendency, as well as lean entirely on Christ Jesus to find our form and identity in Him!
Not everyone will like your personality and will misinterpret who you are, but you have to be at peace. You have to know that you’re a work in progress.
Yesterday as I was walking, I passed a snail, and the Lord spoke to my heart, “Robin, as long as you’re moving at a snail’s pace, you’re still moving.” In other words, your progress might be slow, but still, the smallest progress is better than nothing. Don’t look at your failures or warts; look at your progress in God!
God bless!
