“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
I love these words. . .I wasn’t good at complementing other girls. When I was in school, I sat in the cafeteria by myself, the other girls always looked so cute in their pretty clothes.
At the Children’s Home, we got to go to the basement and fold the clothes and pick out clothes to wear.🫣
Jealously was my problem, I had no idea why I didn’t have friendships. I was tall and skinny for my age… but I remember one of the ladies in the cafeteria told me one day that I needed to gain weight and get my long, stringy hair cut.
That evening I went into the main kitchen and found some scissors laying in a drawer.✂️✂️✂️
I had no idea what I was doing, and I cut and cut and cut. I got plenty of laughs at school the next day and on. I was really embarrassed.
When I met Gene, he was so kind to me. He always had nothing but nice and kind things to say to me. It’s sad, but it took me a long time to believe him. It wasn’t him, it was me.
When Jesus came into my heart, my heart changed so quickly.
Not only does God observe our struggles, He steps in to help us.
When we can’t do anything, God can do everything. When we can barely raise our heads, He can raise us up; every part of us, every one of us—to glory.
Jesus was so eager to turn my defeats into His victories.
I love complimenting girls and women today. My prayer was, LORD JESUS, I receive both Your challenge and Your support. Please bring Your salt into my life, preserving Your truth in me and enabling me to walk in peace and grace with You and others.
