Proverbs 3:5-6 in the scriptures talks about us not leaning to our own understanding but trusting God who is the only One who can carry us through.
Today’s devotion comes from a sister in the UK who shares her personal struggle of surrender and made a monologs to share with us. God is faithful to complete what He started in each of us.
Release Control to Me!

When we face times and situations and circumstances which seem so out of our control, we want to do something to gain control. For me, I turned to food and controlling what I ate as you will hear in the monologue below.
It is so easy to try to cope and want to take control of situations but when we trust Jesus and we hand over control to Him; it saves us a lot of heartache.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding.” PROVERBS 3:5
When I first came to know Jesus it was a huge step of faith to hand over control and trust Jesus but when I did; freedom came and I was healed and restored, yes it was a journey and there are times when I have tried to take control back but it always leads to stress, heartache and frustration and never really works!
I hear God say release control to me and that is what truly works!
As we relinquish our control to God, as we pray and take a step back and let Him work things out on our behalf, we can trust Him. He will always do what is best for us and for our family members and situations we are in. Even if we don’t fully understand at the time, it’s about releasing control and listening to the One who knows, the Author and Perfecter of our faith.
We know with Him all things are possible so as we release control and let Him lead, He will do what is right.
Hand back the steering wheel and let God move on your behalf for He only has the best for you. There you will find peace and know His ways are the best ways.
This is me, my personal struggle. BUT GOD!
