EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
One of the biggest obstacles we face in our prayer life is discouragement. How do we pray when we are down and completely without courage, it’s so difficult to focus.
We can see discouragement in many ways, such as in a broken marriage, a family member who won’t speak to us, a rebellious child, a chronic illness, a large debt we can’t pay, and the list goes on. Long-term problems that seem to tempt us to wonder, what’s the use? Why do I even pray? How many times do we throw our hands up in the air and say, forget it…or forget them!
Ugh!!! No, no, no, that is not the resolve…
Combat the lies with Truth: we can find our encouragement in the Lord and we can find it in prayer!!! Please, don’t ever give up when we have these two resources—the Bible and communication to talk with God.
The more we are attracted to our Lord and Savior, the less we will focus on discouragement by other things we can’t control. God is in control. Talk to Him about everything! He needs to hear from us. He wants to hear from us. We need to understand it, know it, and believe it. God has your back, and He has mine.
Let’s get busy and stay focused…why?, because the Lord is coming soon, and we should all be prepared!
Discouragement can be a trap to deter our focus. It takes us in a different direction. This is a statement to recite to ourselves daily.
Pray with excitement each day. The Lord will take care of you!
“Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who makes the storm clouds.
He gives showers of rain to us and plants of the field to everyone.” (Zachariah 10:1.) God makes the way when there seems to be no way out. TRUST. Trust in Him fully.
Today, I’m praying over each of you who are discouraged and brokenhearted; I’m asking God for your healing and trust that He knows exactly who is in need of this prayer.
