VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Discovering Your God-Given Gifts
It wasn’t until I fully embraced who I am in God’s eyes that I discovered my true calling.
I’d been a professional artist all my life, but I never truly understood my purpose in the arts until I received a revelation of how my Heavenly Father sees me. After giving my life to Christ and later experiencing what I believe was miraculous healing through prophetic art, everything began to make sense.
My talent became my gift—and my gift became a way to minister to others. Psalm 139:13–16 reminds us that God formed us intentionally, knowing us before we ever took our first breath. How incredible that our loving Father created each of us with unique gifts and a purpose!
Through my painting Daughter of God, I wanted to capture how God sees His precious daughters. Rich colors represent His unconditional love. A crown of flowers symbolizes the seasons of growth and refinement, while a butterfly represents transformation—the freedom to spread our wings and become who He created us to be.
Another painting, I Am the Light, became part of an extraordinary experience. While teaching a creativity course, I shared how, as a four-year-old who didn’t speak, I found refuge in art and Jesus. A mother approached me afterward, explaining that her four-year-old daughter also didn’t speak but loved painting.
I gave her my painting to hang in her daughter’s bedroom. The mother later reported that her daughter began speaking at kindergarten the very next day!
What a beautiful reminder that God can use our gifts in ways we never imagine. Whether through art, words, encouragement, or acts of service, He can bring hope and healing through willing hearts.
So let me ask you: What talents has God placed within you? Could they be gifts He’s inviting you to use for His glory? Embrace who you are in Christ. Let His light shine through you, and watch how He uses your gifts to bless others.
