VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
A Golden Revelation
Sometimes God answers the smallest prayers in ways that remind us just how personally He cares for us. After seeing a photograph of Cedar Waxwings spotted nearby, I silently prayed, “Lord, I would love to see one of these beautiful birds!”
Two days later, I was sitting in my backyard with my camera, hoping to photograph a Painted Bunting. Clouds kept moving across the sun, constantly changing the light and making my camera settings a challenge.
Then I heard it.
Chee-chee.
A tiny, high-pitched sound caught my attention.
At first, I couldn’t see anything. Then suddenly the clouds parted, and sunlight flooded the top of a Cypress tree behind my house.
There they were. Not one Cedar Waxwing. An entire flock—twenty-five or thirty of them! Their golden breasts seemed to glow as they fed on seed pods in the brilliant sunlight. I began photographing them while thanking and praising God for such an unexpected answer to prayer.
Immediately, I thought of Jesus’ words:
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Matthew 6:26, NIV)
God cares for every detail of His creation. And He cares for us even more. I had simply asked to see one bird. My Heavenly Father gave me a flock.
Perhaps today you need a reminder that God sees the quiet desires of your heart. Keep your eyes open. His provision and goodness may appear in ways you never expected.
Sometimes His answer arrives like a golden revelation in the treetops. What a good, good Father we serve!
