Standing on a Firm Foundation
Standing on Iceland’s Diamond Beach, I watched enormous waves crash against beautiful chunks of glistening ice. With every wave, the ice changed shape. One powerful wave even split a large piece in two before my eyes.
It reminded me of life.
Challenges come like relentless waves. Some gently reshape us. Others threaten to overwhelm us completely.
Before I knew Christ, those waves often determined my identity. Fear, disappointment, and hardship slowly eroded my beliefs.
But everything changed when I built my life upon God’s Word.
Now, His truth has become my firm foundation. No matter how fierce the waves become, I know where I stand. Jesus taught that the wise person builds upon the rock. God’s promises remain steady when everything else feels uncertain. The waves still come.
Trials still happen.
But instead of destroying us, God uses them to refine us. Just as rough waves gradually transform ordinary ice into something sparkling and beautiful, God uses life’s challenges to shape us into reflections of Christ.
Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. Stay grounded in His Word. Trust His timing. His truth will hold you steady through every storm.
And one day, you’ll discover that the very waves you feared became part of the beautiful testimony God was creating all along.
