VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Jackie Odhiambo

Loss has a way of shaping a life.
For Jackie, it came early. At just eleven years old, she lost her father, joining a household marked by widowhood and hardship. Daily life became a struggle—limited food, delayed education, and the weight of watching her mother carry grief with quiet strength.

“We have become fatherless, our mothers are widows.” —Lamentations 5:3 (NIV)

Yet through it all, faith remained.

It was through God’s provision that doors began to open—opportunities that would change the trajectory of her life. A scholarship. An education. A deeper understanding of her calling.
And with that calling came a vision.
Not just to succeed—but to return.
To serve.
To uplift.
To restore dignity to those who had been overlooked.

“Father to the fatherless, defender of widows…” —Psalm 68:5 (NLT)

Through her ministry, Jackie began to create spaces where widows were not only supported—but valued as leaders. Where the Word of God became central. Where hope was restored.
Her story is a reminder that even in the midst of lack… God is at work.
Providing.
Positioning.
Calling.
And through obedience, one life can become a catalyst for many.
