VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
We had planned the perfect family adventure—snow-covered mountains, time together, and memories in the making.
And for a while, it was just that. Until everything changed in an instant.
As we stood on the mountain during a snowmobiling trip, a simple turn went wrong. In seconds, the machine flipped—and landed on my son’s leg.
Time seemed to stand still.
Fear rushed in.
Adrenaline took over.
And all I could do was run to him.
By God’s grace, he was conscious. Injured, but not beyond what could heal. And in the middle of that chaos, something unexpected began to unfold.
Gratitude.
Gratitude that his injuries weren’t worse.
Gratitude for protection I couldn’t fully explain.
Gratitude for the small details—like the boots he wore—that made a difference.
As we made our way back, I found myself holding both awe and pain at the same time. Life can be like that. Beautiful… and messy. In the midst of it all, I realized something deeper. Each of my children responded differently—fear, silence, emotion—and in that moment, I knew exactly what each one needed.
That didn’t happen overnight. It came from time, presence, and learning who they are. And in that realization, I saw God’s hand again. Even in the mess… He is there.
Working.
Protecting.
Teaching.
And somehow, weaving it all together into something meaningful.
