VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY

Get Up

Jesus, You walked into a place filled with hopelessness—and You chose the one man who had been waiting the longest.
Thirty-eight years.

Thirty-eight years of lying by the pool, watching others receive healing while he remained stuck.
And then You asked him a question: “Do you want to get well?”

Of course he did.

But his answer revealed something deeper—he believed his healing depended on someone else helping him into the water.

Then You spoke three simple commands:
Get up.
Pick up your mat.
Walk.

Commands that seemed impossible.
Yet when he obeyed, everything changed.
I can’t help but ask myself—how often do I hesitate when You call me to do something that feels impossible?

How often do I choose comfort over obedience?

Scripture reminds us that Your Word carries power. When You speak, transformation happens.

The man didn’t know who You were—but he obeyed anyway.

And in his obedience, he found healing.

Lord, help me respond the same way.
To trust Your voice.
To act without hesitation.
To walk in obedience—even when it’s uncomfortable.
Because when You say “get up”… You also give the strength to stand.
