VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Prayer Is Our Power Source

Cell phones have become such a part of our daily lives that many of us feel lost without them. But when a phone loses its charge, it becomes useless until it reconnects to its power source.

The same is true for our spiritual lives.
When we are connected to the Lord, we have power. When we are disconnected, we quickly feel drained and ineffective.

Jesus explained this clearly in John 15: “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me… Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:4–5, ESV)

Prayer keeps us connected to that power source.
The apostle Paul understood this when he prayed for the believers in Colossae, asking that they would be filled with spiritual wisdom and strengthened with God’s power so they could walk in a way that pleases the Lord (Colossians 1:9–12).

Life brings challenges we cannot face in our own strength. Scripture reminds us that we are engaged in a spiritual battle and must rely on the armor and power that God provides. Prayer is essential in this ongoing journey.

“Pray hard and long… Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.” (Ephesians 6:18, MSG)
When our minds remain focused on the Lord, we experience His peace and strength.
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3, ESV)

Staying connected to God through prayer and His Word allows us to access the power only He can provide.
Stay connected.
Stay in the Word.
Stay plugged into the ultimate power source.
