Feathers Appear When Angels Are Near
Life has a way of bringing storms we never expected.
After a devastating hurricane and hailstorm damaged our property along the Alabama coast, my husband and I traveled there to assess the repairs. Standing on the beach that morning, watching the sunrise paint the sky in shades of pink, I was reminded of how fragile life can be.
Storms come in many forms—loss, illness, grief, or overwhelming circumstances that leave us wondering how we will move forward.
But God never promises that storms will not come.
He promises that we will not face them alone.
Psalm 91:4 offers this beautiful assurance:
“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”
Feathers in Scripture symbolize protection and care. They remind us that God shelters us beneath His wings, just as a mother bird protects her young.
Another passage echoes this same promise:
“Have mercy on me, my God… I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.” (Psalm 57:1)
Perhaps you’ve heard the saying, “Feathers appear when angels are near.” Whether we see feathers or simply feel God’s presence, these moments remind us that heaven is always at work around us.
Even when the storm rages, God’s protection surrounds us.
When you notice small reminders of His presence—pause.
Give thanks.
And remember that you are never alone.
