VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Lens of Grace

One of the deepest human needs is to be seen.

As a therapist, I sit with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, and broken relationships. Often, they arrive feeling isolated — misunderstood, unseen, and alone. And while training teaches me to maintain composure, my heart still feels the weight of their stories.
Sometimes there are no perfect words.
Sometimes presence is the ministry.

We all long to be seen in our brokenness — not judged, not fixed immediately, but understood. Yet seeking help can carry stigma. The enemy would love to convince us that reaching out is weakness. But Scripture reveals something different: God Himself is El Roi — the God who sees.
He sees our wounds.
He sees our tears.
He sees what others overlook.

And through His grace, He meets us there.
Grace is not something we earn. It is the unmerited favor of God poured out through Christ. “He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins” (Ephesians 1:7, NLT).
When we truly understand how fully God sees us — and still chooses grace — it changes how we see others.

We are invited to look at people through the lens of grace. Even in conflict. Even in disagreement. Even when hurt feels justified. The grace that covers us also covers them.
Colossians 4:6 reminds us, “Let your conversation be always full of grace.” Imagine how relationships would transform if grace led every response.

We do not have to strive for God’s love. We are already seen and covered.
And when we extend that same grace outward, lives are changed.
