VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
God Is Faithful
Stress has a way of revealing what truly lives in our hearts.
Scripture reminds us, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” (Proverbs 4:23, NLT). What fills our hearts eventually shows on our faces, in our words, and in our responses. When pressure rises, does our countenance reflect despair — or the supernatural peace of God?
Stress comes in many forms.
Sometimes it arrives wrapped in excitement — planning a wedding, anticipating a new baby, preparing for a move, or coordinating a family gathering. Even joyful milestones can stir anxiety. In those moments, we are invited to trust the Lord with every detail: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart… and he will make straight your paths” (Proverbs 3:5–6, ESV).
Other times, stress is the result of our own choices. When we step outside of God’s guidance, consequences follow. Yet even then, His Word lights the way back. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105, ESV).
And sometimes stress crashes in through crisis — illness, loss, or sudden change. These moments test what we truly believe. Do we still trust that God is in control? Do we believe He can heal? Restore? Redeem?
As believers, our hope is not rooted in circumstances but in Christ. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31, NIV).
When we press into Scripture, pray, journal, and seek Him — even through tears — His peace guards our hearts and minds.
God is faithful.
Yesterday. Today. Forever.
