VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
An Ordinary Woman With a Heart for God
The Bible is filled with stories of women God used in extraordinary ways — not because they were powerful or famous, but because they were willing, faithful, and obedient. These were ordinary women, called by God in His perfect timing.
Esther was a young, orphaned Hebrew woman living in captivity. God positioned her as queen and used her courage to save an entire nation. Rahab was a prostitute in Jericho, yet she recognized the power of the one true God and risked everything to protect His people. God redeemed her past and wove her story into His greater plan (Joshua 2).
An unnamed Samaritan woman encountered Jesus at a well — a social outcast with a painful past. Yet Jesus revealed Himself to her as the Messiah, and her testimony led many in her village to believe (John 4:39). And Mary, a humble young woman from Nazareth, said yes to God’s calling and became the mother of our Savior — witnessing His life, ministry, miracles, and sacrifice on the cross (Luke 1:26–35).
Each of these women had something in common: they were ordinary — and they trusted God.
Scripture reminds us that we, too, are created with purpose. “Let us make mankind in our image” (Genesis 1:26). “I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). God designed us to be set apart and entrusted us as His ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20).
He gives us courage, compassion, and a thirst to know Him more. He equips us with hearts to love our families, serve others, celebrate joy, and trust Him through hardship. When we confess our sins and place our faith in Him, He forgives and restores us.
Expect God to do amazing things in your life — just as He did through these ordinary women. Seek His guidance. Study His Word. Pray for courage and a heart for God. And trust His timing.
Are you ready to follow His lead in extraordinary ways?
