VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Free from Fear, Strong in Faith
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
—James 4:7 (NKJV)
Fear can shape a life before we even realize it. For many years, fear followed me—taunting my thoughts and keeping me on guard, always anticipating danger. Even as a child, I learned how to run. I ran toward safety, ran from uncertainty, and unknowingly ran from fully trusting God.
As I grew older, fear continued to influence my decisions. Relationships ended, plans unraveled, and everything I thought defined my future was stripped away. In that dark season, I reached a crossroads: I could keep running in fear—or I could surrender completely to God. And surrender is where grace met me.
God reminded me that my worth is not found in my past, my mistakes, or my fears. My identity is found in Christ alone. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31, NIV).
Salvation is freely given through Jesus, but walking in freedom requires daily choosing Him—submitting to His truth and resisting the lies that try to pull us back into fear.
Christ’s love invites us to live differently. As we seek God, immerse ourselves in His Word, and guard our minds, the Holy Spirit becomes our guide and protector. Jesus promised, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find” (Matthew 7:7, NIV). God reveals Himself to those who pursue Him.
When I stopped running in fear and started running toward Christ, I discovered true freedom. Fear no longer had authority over me. Through faith and obedience, God showed me that I am protected, deeply loved, and never alone.
Today, you can be confident—fear does not define you. In Christ, you are an overcomer.
