VOICE OF TRUTH FOR TODAY
Be Strong and Courageous NOW
In a world where right is often called wrong and wrong is called right, standing firm in biblical truth takes courage. Now more than ever, our children and grandchildren need to see what it looks like to live boldly for God—without compromise.
God’s words to Joshua still speak powerfully to us today: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9, NIV). Wherever you go means exactly that—God is always with us.
We must teach the next generation that it’s okay to live out their faith openly. It’s okay to pray before meals, lift hands in worship, help the child who is being mocked, and let others know you read the Bible and pray. God’s Word reminds us, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path” (Psalm 119:105, NIV).
Standing for truth may mean going against the flow. Evil can seem loud and dominant, but God remains sovereign. Just as He made a way for the Israelites to cross the Jordan on dry ground, He will make a way for us—and for our children—when we need Him most.
Joshua instructed the older generation to tell their children what God had done so they would know His power and faithfulness. That calling remains. We are to pray, teach, and live in such a way that the next generation knows the Lord is near and trustworthy.
Let us be intentional—teaching, praying, and leading with courage—so those we love don’t drift, but stand strong in faith.
