EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
“If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; Keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. (James 2:15-17)
As believers, we need to be careful when we are “in need” and that we do not demand things from our leaders that we would not be prepared to do ourselves for someone else who is hurting. If we are able bodies and don’t take any action ourselves, we will only turn people away from God by our mere talk about someone who should be working.
At times, we need to examine “self,” frequently asking ourselves this question, “What am I doing to make a helpful difference in someone else’s life who is hurting?” Knowing we cannot save everyone from their suffering if we all looked for just one person we could help on a regular basis and take our eyes off ourselves, we’d make a big impact in our world.
We need to be very careful of not being a complainer especially if we are not “doing” something ourselves to help any given situation. If we each took notice of one person x one person in need and with just a little motivation to help another out, we could change the face of our world in the Name of Jesus.
When one person steps out to help, and others see them “doing” a task, doesn’t it motivate??? Then a few more jump in to help with the work, and a few more might give finances, and then all of a sudden, more gets accomplished, and the load gets lighter. Then multiplication happens, God’s miracles can be seen, and He gets the glory.
We can use this same type of outlook when it comes to reaching others for Jesus! If we each committed to speaking to “one” person a day about Jesus and His love for them, we could change the world!
“For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost” (Luke 19:10)
We, as believers, have the Holy Spirit who resides in us. Let us follow His lead to seek and save the lost and put into action the help that others are crying out for.
