EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:

God can give any of us a clean and renewed heart!

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast Spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.” (Psalm 51:10-12)

We can learn from some of the greatest men and women in the Bible who had their hearts and minds seduced and drawn away from God. I’m sure they must have felt unclean in their realization and in need of forgiveness when they finally saw their sin before them. Thank God for Jesus.

I think back on the story of King David; he had a mental battle going on as he looked from a distance at Bathsheba bathing on the rooftop. And then, with his mind and heart, he sinned.

Our sin can bring us to the pit of despair, but we have the ability to cast it out! We can call on God at any moment and stop it! We can break it off and run clear in the other direction! But do we?

None of us will ever be at peace if we are living with unconfessed sin in our lives. If we are living in sin and not changing our actions, then we are going to pay the penalty for it. That is something to be certain of. There is a price for sin.

When I was living in sin, my life was in a constant state of conviction. I hated it but tried to ignore it. I continuously fought the Holy Spirit, who spoke into my life when I was going against scripture. I knew better. I thank God continuously when I look back on how wretched I was and that He spared my life in my disobedient ways. I confessed and changed direction thankfully and “before” something drastic happened to get my attention.

If you have any questionable “goings-on” in your life right now, STOP IT! Ask God to create in you a clean heart. Renew a right Spirit within you, and do what He says in obedience; he will help you. David was a man after God’s heart but fell into temptation and then sinned. God restored to him the joy of his salvation after his repentance. God did that for me, and He will do it for you.

Examine your life. Where do you walk each day? Our Bible holds many promises and, especially one we must memorize, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). That’s a promise, and there is no way around it. I testify from experience, and the consequences are usually never good. A lot of hurt happened in my life before the goodness of God cleansed me. Please take heart and listen up. 🙏🏼
