EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE
1 John 5:14-15
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of Him.”
We can have the confidence that when we find ourselves alone, we know that God is right beside us; he is waiting to hear us out. He hears our words take shape so that we can align them with God’s word and then decipher truth from lies.
God listens to everything we have to say, and in doing so, He analyzes the situation and gives comfort. He holds us close and assures us that what’s before us is temporary and that each day holds a new beginning, an opportunity to overcome and draw closer to Him.
God listens because He cares; is that not what we long for? I believe we want someone to validate that we matter. When we have someone to affirm that what we are doing is good, we are believing and trusting they will help point out to us anything they see according to God’s standards to correct us in love.
We need to be accountable to God so that sin doesn’t take root. We can be pulled from our hearts as those weeds are pulled from a flower bed that promises beauty if it’s well taken care of. God listens so that we can release and purge what is not good for us and keep what holds us together. Trust Him in this!
