EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:

“And on the vine there were three branches. As soon as it budded, its blossoms shot forth, and the clusters ripened into grapes.” (Genesis 40:10)

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

We all need sustenance for survival.

Jesus is the vine, the true source of life for us believers. We are branches connected to Him, drawing that life from Him as branches draw the necessary nutrients to survive and flourish.

At first glance, we may assume that branches bear fruit, but in another sense, it’s really the vine that makes it all happen.

Only branches truly connected to the source of life—the vine—will bear fruit.

The Bible uses this expression to show the relationship between God and his children. The Father, who owns the vine, oversees its growth and fruit-bearing. Jesus, the vine, provides life and fruitfulness to his followers, the branches.

The Spirit, like rain, gives life and water to the vine’s roots, which then becomes sap that grows up through the vine and into the branches, producing fruit. The fruit can represent converts that a person makes or helps bring to the Lord.

The metaphor also includes the idea that branches that don’t bear fruit should be cut off and thrown away. This pruning process helps the vine grow strong and produce more fruit.

Please do not try to do anything without seeking God first and trust Him as He is our Vine that feeds us everything we need to sustain eternal life and living in this world. ❤
