Our loving Heavenly Father does not want us to live a life of shame! In fact, when He created Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, His Word tells us in Genesis 2:25, “they felt no shame.”
It wasn’t until sin came into the world as a result of their disobedience that shame entered into their existence.
Sadly, shame is a huge epidemic plaguing our world today. It is certainly not from God.
God created us to live in freedom and harmony. He does not want us to experience shame or isolation. In the animal kingdom, predators look for the weakest creature to strike unexpectedly. They target it, isolate it, then launch their attack. The enemy works in much the same way.
Shame is rooted in fear. God’s perfect love drives out fear.
Galatians 5:1: “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
Jesus never condemns or shames anyone. He always shows love, grace, mercy and forgiveness. God’s goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our lives. Shame no longer has a place in our lives as believers. Let’s start living shamelessly free for Christ today!
