EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
We live in a time where some words have become difficult to think about and the heart has a mind of its own when we hear it.
Submission, who talks about this word in our day and age? The human heart has a difficult time hearing this word let alone being obedient to it under the authority of God.
People do not relish being told what to do. We see this in the workforce, in politics, in relationships, and with God.
When God resides in this word “submission,” the meaning of it becomes so much better. “Submit to yourself” is a condition of the heart. Is God in your heart? If He is it means you take the control and release of “your will” and submit it to “God’s will.” By doing this we surrender and submit our life to His authority.
James 4:7 tells us a submitted heart will protect us to know where to draw the line. When we look to scripture, we can be assured that there is promise and truth within. We give God authority to declare the wrong instead of screaming it ourselves.
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
With all respect and being transparent, the personal struggle with submission of the heart took me years to get in check. My life is so full of peace now that I’ve embraced this word. I can mess up but the great news is I have a Father in heaven who lovingly forgives me.
Jesus and His love for others is my role model to follow. He answers everyone with truth, love, and perfect peace which He carries in Who He is.
Jesus Himself submitted to the Father.
Let our hearts long to be like Jesus. It’s a daily submission of our hearts.
Please don’t allow yourself to go places that get you “out of control.” Submit your heart to God, and let Him handle the rough situations you encounter as you walk daily through life.
God will give you wisdom when you ask Him for it. God does not want you to be a doormat to people nor does He want you a mindless robot of others’ expectations, but He does expect us to submit to Him in every way. When you do, He will lead you in every situation and when you give your heart, He will cushion it with peace. He alone is worthy to control it.
