EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
(1 John 4:1)
Choices, we must make choices in some way every day we live.
Many of us walk through life and question if we are to do something or not do it. Do we trust a person, or don’t we? How do we have the discernment to understand if someone or something is right for us, right to be part of, if it is a good fit, or a “move on and beyond” situation?
We all make choices and decisions every day…in our purchases, for attending events, for investing in people, for going places, or even partnering with people in business or ministry or life, and discernment is what is needed. Personally, at this point in my life, I’d never think to make decisions on my own anymore; I ask God.
Each morning before I start my day, I ask the Holy Spirit to direct me to each person, place, thing, and action, plus more. What should I be part of, or what should I not enter into…
God’s Word gives us guidance. If we know His Word, we can discern situations with His wisdom as well as people that come to us for interaction.
“But when He, the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth. (Full and complete truth) For He will not speak on His own initiative, but He will speak whatever He hears, and He will disclose to you what is to come. (John 16:32)
“The unfolding of Your (glorious) words give light; Their unfolding gives understanding to the simple.” (Psalm 119:130)
God moves within us about what’s to come in the future. Are you listening? Are you constantly asking Him to guide you? Has He given you discernment?
“Do not participate in the worthless and unproductive deeds of darkness but instead expose them.” (Eph 5:20)
We need to always be ready to discern good and evil and ask God for His help to do so. When we ask, He gives. He promises He will in James 1:5, and we will exemplify personal integrity, moral courage, and Godly character. You, too, will be using the discernment God gives when you when you ask Him for it.
“Whatever you ask for in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:22)
I can say I’m confident with God’s help that He hears this daily request from me and helps me along my path. Yes, I’m confident in this because I ask for it in faith for my protection!
May He move in you as you ask Him.
