EMPOWERING LIVES WITH PURPOSE:
We can be the light today in a dark and dreary world!
How?
By shining the light of Jesus as we walk about our day. And not just reflecting His light; we must SHINE His light.
“You Are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)
When God gives us this instruction to be His light in the world where we live, it could be very intimidating to some of us. Especially those of us who are not outgoing with others to verbally speak. If you have fears, you may tend to clam up.
As the old saying goes, for some people, you may be the only Bible they ever read. Make certain what you convey is everything about love and being a light for Jesus in your actions.
“Be doers of the Word and not hearers only.” (James 1:22)
The good news is God gives us a lot of different ways to show the light of Jesus. Hallelujah. (And it doesn’t need to involve speaking) Our actions are some of the most effective ways to show the love of Jesus and glorify our Heavenly Father. Look up (Matthew 5:16).
As I walk through life each day and interact with people in stores, banks, restaurants, and gatherings, I am so in tune to those who don’t speak up. BUT…I’m always taking notice of how they treat me. Do they smile with love in their hearts or grumble and look away? Do they share a kind gesture or rudely go on their hurried way? People notice actions.
