Guest writer from York, Pennsylvania: Dr. Jia R Conway -WWL’s Leadership teacher. “This Is How We Fight Our Battles”
“I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.”  (Psalm 138:2 ESV)
Ever feel like you get through one storm only to find yourself staring at the next one, and you have not even had a moment to catch your breath?
Ever feel like you just don’t have the energy, the strength, and the wherewithal to move through one more challenge, trial or tribulation?
Ever feel like everything and everyone else is moving at a speed of consistency, but you are now stuck in the twilight zone where nothing in your life is moving as it should, how it should or even normally as it should?
Ever feel like God did not hear you when you asked for a moment just to catch your breath? To breathe? To inhale and exhale? Just to be?
As I reflect over the past 90-days of my life, I don’t even know when the battle started, and I definitely don’t recall having a moment to celebrate the victory of the battle before I had to be suited up for the next one. Yet, what I do remember is stopping, stilling myself and silencing myself to hear God remind me, “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life, you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.” (Psalm 138:7 ESV).
Sisters, I want to remind you of this amazing declaration from God to preserve us and deliver us right in the midst of our trials, troubles and tribulations. I want to encourage you to set your focus not on being in the battle, but the posture you have taken to fight the battle. How are you fighting the battle that you feel so poorly prepared for? Sisters, the Word declares that we are to fight bowed down toward the holy temple of God and give thanks!
How do we fight our battles? In WORSHIP, PRAYER AND PRAISE! We are to give thanks even when the storm seems to surround us because God responds to the faith of our fight, our trust in Him in the strength of our soul, and our posture of surety that the Lord will fulfill his purpose for us, and that His steadfast love endures forever!

God has a promise in this place for us! The devil is busy telling us otherwise and unfortunately, we are believing him saying “we are not good enough, we’ll never be good enough.” Because of lies we experience envy, jealousy, and resentment against others.
How many times do you give the devil the opportunity to tie up your hopes and dreams inside your brain because you’re busy being jealous of someone else?
Our God IS a God of limitless supply. We can please Him with our faith and it brings glory to Him when we bear fruit and not tear others apart.
Two things I’d love to share:
1. God wants to be known in YOUR LIFE- to advance His PURPOSES on earth through YOU.
2. You are good enough! You are as good as any of God’s creations. You are beautiful in God’s sight! You ARE the apple of God’s eye because YOU BELONG TO HIM, right?
You are chosen, set apart, and different. Allow nothing or no one to tell you otherwise. Accept who you are in Christ and embrace it tightly sweet sister.
Scripture says, “Put to death the deeds of our flesh. Give no room for them to grow in your life.” You want EVERYTHING God has for you, do you not? Pray for discernment and cast out anything the enemy tries to deceive you with.
“Such wisdom does not come down from heaven but is earthly, and unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.” ( James 3: 15-17!)
“Let this be us, please oh Lord, let this be us!” Amen!

Alcohol, drugs, and other addictions are some of the most successful lures that many face. The attack is so great upon people that they cannot stand against it without support.
Many don’t even realize it until they are shot down. Only the power of God, through prayer, can make a difference.
If you know someone who has a problem, stand in the gap for them, with confidence, knowing who you are in the Lord! You can pray for them with power and authority. Yes, YOU can!
Rebuke all the detours by the enemy and remember the power is invested in you through Jesus Christ your Savior who is Lord over everything in your life.
Pray this scripture over yourself if it’s you struggling, or over those you love if it’s them…
“For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.”
 (Romans 8:13)
“This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life-and-death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, Listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him.”
(Deuteronomy 30:19-20)
Don’t be on the detour of addictions and lures of the enemy. Listen to God’s voice. Hold it in your heart and share the truth. Know the truth and the truth will set you free.

You and I have been lied to, we have been deceived. The “best” lies- the most effective ones- are those that look the most like the truth.
The one who tells us these lies is Satan who poses as an “angel of light”. (2Cor 11:14) He promises happiness and pretends to have our best interests at heart. But he is a deceiver and a destroyer; he is determined to dethrone God by getting us to side with him against God. He uses subtle lies and even half-truths to deceive and destroy you or those you love.
We must identify and expose the Deceiver and his lies. Call them out!
We need to know the power of Truth and stand on It firmly.
Acting on Truth means our freedom. The freedom that comes with embracing God’s Truth. Reject the lies and replace the lies with the Truth found in God’s Word and in Jesus Christ, the Living Word.
The liberating Power of the Truth allows you to freely walk in His grace, His forgiveness, and His abundant life. His kindness and His mercies tell us…
John 8:32 …”You will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.”
Thank you God for Your uncompromised Living Truth, we can not live without it, ever.

When should we praise God? Do you find yourself only praising God when He answers your prayers the way you want? When something good happens? How about when an accident happens and you live to tell about it? Or when you are in the middle of a trial? How about when the worst thing imaginable happens?
The Bible says in Psalm 113:3 (ESV), From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!
So, that means we should praise Him always! I definitely could improve in this area. How about you? Do you need to practice praising God? Our God deserves our continual praise.  Let’s work on praising Him more. Let’s ask Him to help us.
Let’s think about a few ways we can praise Him. We can praise Him by lifting our hands. We can praise Him by singing. We can praise Him with our words, with dancing and instruments. We can praise Him in fellowship with other believers.
Psalm 150:6 (NIV) says, Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Maybe you’re thinking, “I’m just too busy to praise God.” Is it even possible to praise Him continually? Think of it as more of an attitude. When you first wake up, praise Him. As you go about your chores, praise Him. When you are driving, praise Him. When you are working out, praise Him. When you see a sunset or something in God’s creation, praise Him. When the kids are fighting, praise Him. When you are lying in bed, praise Him. Whenever you praise God, keep praising Him and look for more opportunities to praise Him.  He will show you. We cannot over-praise God.
God doesn’t need us to praise Him to make Him feel better or loved. He tells us to praise Him for our benefit.  Praise gets our focus off ourselves and back on to God. Praise helps bring us to a place of humility. Praise makes the enemy flee. Praise leaves no room for complaining and negativity. Praise makes room for God’s blessing over our lives. Praise invites His presence. Praise paves a way for miracles. Let all the people praise Him!
Heb. 13:15 (KJV), By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Every sin or crime begins with someone believing or speaking a lie. I believe telling lies is one of the worst offenses because it’s foundational for evil acts!
In my past when I stepped out of God’s protection and into my own way of living, I gave Satan a piece of my heart. This is difficult to say, and it sickens me to think back on it but as I lied to cover my ways to get what I wanted, I unfortunately aligned myself with Satan. I became his pawn to permit more evil acts to happen.  While thinking the lies may have been for my own benefit, they almost always involved another. (I can clearly see now it’s the deceit the enemy throws in for cover) Satan is a deceiver, the father of all lies. Another deception was believing the lies only prospered myself.
Little lies, in the beginning, will turn into bigger lies later. In my own life, the lies brought on complete devastation to me.
People may believe lying will make things better for them or help them at the moment- another deception, BEWARE!!! It does not.
The bible says, “Getting your treasures by a lying tongue is the fleeting fantasy of those who seek death”. (Proverbs 21:6)
The slightest untruth will bring death into your life. STOP!
“A false witness will not go unpunished, he who speaks lies will not escape” (Prov. 19:5)
Pray now that any lying spirit that may be in you or someone you love, will be uprooted. The Spirit of truth will surely guide you into ALL TRUTH, but you must confess any lies first, get rid of your lying tongue, and remove them from your life once and for all–completely. 100%. Not even a “white lie” is permitted. NO SUCH THING!!! A lie is a lie!
Gods word says,
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” (3 John 1:4)
Walk-in truth and experience “true freedom” from evil.

Sexually broken women usually feel they have no value. A judgmental approach is often non-intentional, but occurs. I was one of these women, it takes a special person to minister to them one on one.
Ministering to sexually broken women must involve ongoing and specific teaching from the Word of God. If not, the supposed helper person can come across as distressingly judgmental. It’s often better off that one should remain silent and not approach them at all and just pray for them if they can’t offer advice from scripture with love.
But if you’re led to help…
Be a trusted sister in Christ. Then, you must know them and pray to really know them and disciple them to understand the nature of temptation and what’s happening inside their hearts that may be contributing to their sin.
They will need to know the richness of God’s design for sexuality and not merely a list of do’s and don’ts from others’ opinions. This takes time. We can’t expect women to come running to be taught by us, it just won’t happen…
If there is a need by someone you love who is affected, ask God to help you to help them and see them as He does.
Grow in wisdom through God’s Word and become a loving listener first.
Grow in your theology, so that God’s Word could be applied to the real-life situations of women in life. Do not step into this arena blindly. You will lose their confidence if you give flippant answers of do’s and do not do’s.
Be the healing hands of Jesus that extend true grace, forgiveness, and rescue–for all sinners, including sexual sin. Be a Titus 2 woman.
Remember, these hurting women are beloved daughters of God who need to be set free from the brokenness of sin and shame. Allow them to see King Jesus who gives courage, wisdom, joy, calling, welcoming, forgiveness and discipline with love through His precious Word. Jesus loves His daughters, so should we.

Hope When Circumstances Are Bleak
“I know that God is all-powerful, loving, and good, but I doubt He is like that with me.”  This is a refrain I hear often in counseling sessions. This is related to experiences that point to being forgotten by God, or overlooked by Him, or worse, being punished by Him for not being ‘X’ enough.
In the book of Ruth, Naomi’s responses strike me as an ancient echo of that oft-heard refrain.
Following the difficult decision to move from their home in Bethlehem due to famine, Naomi with her husband and 2 sons settle in Moab. Within a short span of time, all of her men die, leaving her with 2 daughters-in-law. After 10 years in a foreign land, Naomi heads home.
We see Naomi’s expressed belief about God’s view of her when she says to her daughters, “My life is much too bitter for you to share because the Lord’s hand has turned against me,” and further when Naomi arrives in Bethlehem, she states, “Call me Mara, for the Almighty, has made me very bitter. I went away full, but the Lord has brought me back empty… the Lord has pronounced judgment on me, and the Almighty has afflicted me.” (1:13, 20-21, HCSB)
In her understandable state of grief, Naomi could not have imagined the joy that awaited her in a few short months. Nor could she imagine the beauty and significance of God’s eternal plan; a plan that tied her directly to the Redeemer Himself. We know the happy conclusion to Naomi’s story, within her lifetime, included her redemption through a grandson who renewed her life and sustained her in her old age, along with a daughter-in-law who loved her and was better “than seven sons” (4:15).
When we are feeling unloved, abandoned, forgotten, or in some way punished by a capricious god, we need to hold onto the fact that He is never inclined toward us in this way, even when it feels like it in the moment. Truly, when we have experienced disappointment and pain that seems unrelenting, it can feel difficult to trust that God’s love is not fleeting. This is particularly true in the seasons of waiting; not knowing how long the grieving will last, or for what reason something is happening, or when there is one loss piled on top of so many others. Hope is clinging to the steadiness of God’s love for us while all else feels like shifting sand.

As we are approaching halfway through 2021, we claimed it as Women World Leaders that it will be a year of glorious growth. We see that is truly is just that. We are a living, breathing acting faith.
A living breathing active faith is our birthright and call in Christ Jesus.
And while we are continually called to look for God in the everydayness of our lives, we’re also called to a life of faith that involves occasional adventures. Let’s continue to make this year an adventure together.  Those adventures can be those which take us beyond the known zone. Though our comforts of things bring us comfort, “our call” leads us beyond our comfort zone on a regular basis.
Go after your calling dear sister of WWL.
Ask God to enable you to live a life worthy of “His call.” May He give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do, Exceedingly Abundantly Beyond!!!
Ephesians 3:20
Now unto him who is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine, according to the power that is at work within us.” Continue this year living, breathing, and acting out your faith.

Daily we all battle in our flesh. One thing I think we can all agree on is the battle we face when the lies come at us are struggles, to combat them is not always easy either in our own flesh.
When the enemy throws a lie your way, you can pretty much know the opposite is true.
Here are some truths to encourage you.
When the enemy tells you
you’re worthless:
When the enemy tells you if you keep moving forward, I’ll attack you on every side!
When he says our worst fears are about to come true!
When the enemy pounds in your head  that our breakthrough will never come:
If he is telling you that no one likes you:
Ladies, combat the enemy with the Voice of Truth. He tells you a completely different story every time!
With God, all things become possible!
